The methodological review by Laborde and colleagues addresses HRV study planning, analysis and reporting. Consistent conditions, posture, breathing and recording quality matter when making comparisons.
Limits of application
Research recommendations do not turn a device reading into an individual diagnosis. EMERGING here concerns broad self-monitoring interpretations, not the existence of HRV. A number without context is insufficient to conclude that someone has recovered.
